Opportunity for Courses in Engineering and Construction and Utility Operations

Date : 2015-08-03

As key supply chain partners to Anglian Water and it’s alliances we’d like to inform you about this opportunity for young people.

Anglian Water and The College of West Anglia in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire have joined forces to offer new courses in engineering and construction starting this September.  Students who successfully complete one of the courses will be interviewed for apprenticeship positions with one of Anglian Water’s four alliances.

There are two courses, one in Engineering and the other in Construction and Utility Operations. Both courses have been heavily influenced by Anglian Water’s four alliances. The Engineering course is currently sponsored solely by the @one Alliance, while the Construction and Utility Operations course is a collaboration between all four of Anglian Water’s alliances.

We are trying to help young people in Wisbech to raise their aspirations. The recently signed 15-year contracts signed across all four alliances have given us the opportunity to develop and grow these courses which will be tailored to nurture future talent with a view to joining one of Anglian Water’s alliances. Employees from the alliances will offer specialist lecturing and materials – this is what makes them ‘sponsored’ courses.

Anyone of any age is eligible to apply for the courses, from school leavers to those interested in a new career. As full-time, recognised courses, there is 100 per cent funding available from the government for 16-18 year olds, and some funding available for those who are older, depending on their age.

If you know anyone interested in applying for either course? If so, please contact David on 07903 992155 or email dNewsome@anglianwater.co.uk
Interviews take place on August 24.
